County Administrator
The Island County Administrator is an appointed official responsible for carrying out the policies and goals established by the Board of Island County Commissioners. The County Administrator oversees internal service departmental operations, and provides management, coordination and communication on legislative issues and intergovernmental needs. At the direction of the Board of Island County Commissioners, the county administrator serves as the central point of coordination with other elected officials.
The County Administrator's duties are detailed in a job description. Responsibilities and authorities are established by resolution. Responsibilities include preparing a balanced annual operating budget and, upon adoption by the Board of Island County Commissioners, implementation, and oversight of the approved budget. The County Administrator's office also oversees the county's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Program and Communications Office.
