The Department of Emergency Management recommends that residents signup for local emergency alerts through AlertSense. Individuals can sign up for alerts here and can choose how they recieve alerts. Alerts can be sent through text messages, emails and smartphone notifications. In some circumstances, pre-recorder phone messages may be used to relay information. You can also download the AlertSense smartphone application on both Iphone and Android devices. Look up the MyAlerts application in your device's app store and follow the instructions to set up your location and alert preferences.

Island County DEM also recommends our Island County Preparedness App, available on both Iphone and Android app stores.
