H1N1 Update

The Health Department has completed three H1N1 vaccination clinics on Whidbey and one on Camano for high priority individuals where over 900 inoculations were administered. Naval Hospital Oak Harbor has also held H1N1 vaccine clinics for priority listed beneficiaries. Since early October, over 18,600 doses of vaccine have been drop-shipped to various clinics around Island County and to our two hospitals. Supplies of vaccine have been ordered weekly primarily to our pediatric and family practice clinic activities, and more recently to participating local pharmacies. We have encouraged our residents to call their health care provider's clinic for information regarding if/when they are able to make the H1N1 vaccine available, or for specific instructions for being administered the vaccine. Not all clinics have chosen to participate in the vaccine distribution effort. 

​​ATTENTION: The health department is now scheduling weekly vaccine clinics at all four health department sites to dispense H1N1 vaccine by appointment only [phone (360) 679-7351] to anyone wishing to receive the vaccine:

Island County residents that sustain weather or other natural hazard caused damage to their primary residence or to a business are encouraged to report that damage to the Island County Department of Emergency Management (DEM).

A form for reporting residential damage is on the DEM web page and can be found at the "Reporting Damage" link in the left sidebar.  Reporting of Damage does not guarantee any reimbursements. Damages first must be reported to allow the state to determine if there is enough damage to ask for a Presidential Disaster Declaration.
