DEM is the County's coordinator for emergency training. DEM coordinates with local, state and federal agencies that sponsor a wide range of individual and group training courses. These courses come in a variety of formats including self-study and traditional classroom instruction. Most courses are offered free of charge to qualified students. Some courses are eligible for college credit.
Check out our new Island County Disaster Course. This course takes about an hour to complete. It reviews all of the hazards that Island County is at risk for and prepares you for each one.
