Flouride Varnish

What is Fluoride Varnish?

Fluoride Varnish is a thick coating that your dentist applies to the child’s teeth. It contains fluoride, which can prevent decay and even reverse the decay process. The application takes only a few minutes.  The varnish will appear slightly yellow for a few hours. This will disappear when you brush your child’s teeth the next day.  Fluoride varnishes are safe to use with other types of fluoride. There is less chance of gagging and swallowing!  ABCD children are eligible to have 3 varnishes per year. Varnishes are safe and effective for even very young children.
