Public Health delivers essential programs and services to improve health and well-being in Island County. With a focus on prevention, we are always striving towards better health outcomes, working in partnership with the communities we serve.

Programs & Services

Access to Baby & Child Dentistry: Community engagement and dental care coordination for qualifying children.
New Baby, New Family: Supportive home-based nursing services for pregnant women and new families.
Women, Infants, and Children (WIC): Nutrition education, health screenings, and assistance for pregnant women and families.
Children and Youth with Special Healthcare Needs (CYSHCN): Outreach to improve services for children and youth.
Communicable Disease: Investigation of communicable diseases and ongoing outreach focused on prevention.
Emergency Preparedness: Planning and coordination to prevent, respond to, and recover from emergencies.

Medication Disposal

Unused, unwanted, or expired medications need to be taken to a secure medicine return kiosk. It's as simple as entering your ZIP Code on the MED-Project website to locate one near you. Please visit the MED-project website for instructions.
