Utilizing a variety of programs Public Health nurses support mothers, infants and children. Adequately addressing the unique needs of these individuals helps to improve their overall health and well-being. Integrating systems of public health, health care and related community services ensures maximum impact. All program services are provided at no cost.
Maternity Support Services The purpose of this program is to improve and promote healthy birth outcomes. An interdisiplinary team is available to delivery services to eligible pregnant and post-pregnant clients and their infants. This programs also helps clients to access prenatal care as early in pregancy as possible and provide health care for eligible infants.
Maternal Child Health Program Public Health Nurses may make home or office visits to pregnant or postpartum women, newborn children and teens when the mother is not eligible for Maternity Support Services.
New Baby New Family With a referral from a health care provider, the Public Health nurse may continue to support and monitor both mothers and babies as needed.
