Citizen volunteers are always needed to routinely collect shellfish samples between March and October each year and help provide an early warning system for IslandCounty beaches.  The samples are collected every two weeks and are sent to the Washington State Public Health Lab for Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning testing.

For more information on becoming a volunteer shellfish sampler for your beach please call (360) 678-7914.
