Island County > Prosecutor > Adult Drug Court

Island County now operates both adult and juvenile drug courts in the Superior Court.  Drug Courts are alternatives to traditional prosecution for non-violent drug-addicted offenders.  Participating in Adult Drug Court requires a minimum two-year commitment of intensive treatment and supervision, as well as compliance with rigorous conditions.  Failure to comply with conditions will result in sanctions, and, ultimately, conviction and sentencing on the original crimes.  Successful graduation will result in dismissal or reduction of the original charges, and a strong start toward sustained sobriety, productivity, and social integration.
