2020 Call For Projects: Submittals, Rankings, and Presentations
Announcement of Federal Transportation Project Funding Availability
The Island Regional Transportation Planning Organization (IRTPO) is reviewing local project applications for from two funding sources: Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG) and Transportation Alternatives (TA) Projects receiving awards would add to currently programmed projects for the 2021-2026 six-year cycle. Grant funds may be used by eligible sponsors for projects that preserve and improve the transportation system and are consistent with regional priorities.
STBG funds may be utilized for projects under 23 U.S.C. 133(b). Eligible activities for TA funds are detailed under 23 U.S.C. 101 (a)(29) or 213. Funds are allocated to our region for project prioritization and selection.
Sponsors eligible for STBG and TA funds through the IRTPO include local governments, regional transportation authorities, transit agencies, schools, tribal governments, and any other local or regional government entity with responsibility for oversight of transportation that the State of Washington determines to be eligible, consistent with the goals of subsection (c) of section 213 of title 23.
