ISLAND COUNTY FINANCE COMMITTEE
The county treasurer, the county auditor, and the chair of the county legislative authority, ex officio, comprise the county finance committee under RCW 36.48.070. The county treasurer acts as chair and the county auditor is the secretary. The committee keeps a full and complete record of all proceedings in appropriate books of record, which is kept in the office of the county auditor and is open to public inspection. The committee approves county investment policy and debt policy, and establishes rules for deposit of funds in designated financial institutions and investment of funds where appropriate.

The Island County Finance Committee meets quarterly in January, April, July, and October, on the 4th Tuesday at 11:00 AM in the Board of Island County Commissioners’ Meeting Room 101. However, due to current health precautions, meetings are now being held virtually via the County's Starleaf software. This practice will continue until further notice. To participate in the meeting, consult the Board of Island County Commissioners' agenda for the date of the meeting, find the Finance Committee meeting listing, and utilize the link. This is a public meeting; notice of the annual meeting schedule is published each January in the official county newspaper.
