2022 Property Taxes are certified and statements will be mailed by February 28.
Any unpaid balances remaining from prior periods are delinquent. Balance information is also posted on this website (see the Make a Payment link, above). The due date for property taxes in Island County is April 30, 2022 and second half balances are due October 31. The property taxes you pay to the Island County Treasurer are redistributed to the State of Washington to fund public schools, the special purpose districts that provide your services (hospital districts, school districts, cities, fire districts, parks and recreation districts, diking districts, drainage districts, the library district, emergency medical services, etc.), and Island County (roads and public services). These districts require tax revenues to continue operations and the provision of services to County residents. Additionally, many have outstanding bond issues with debt service payments due June 1 and December 1. On behalf of the state and districts, we appreciate your prompt payments.
If you do not receive a tax statement by mail, request that one be emailed to you by completing this online
form. Failure to receive a statement by mail does not absolve the taxpayer of the responsibility to make timely payment per RCW 84.56.050.
Checks received without appropriate interest and/or penalties included will be applied as partial payments.
