COVID-19 Related Court Changes

Due to Public Health Concerns, Island County Superior Court has signed several emergency orders. Please review the orders by clicking on the links below.

Masks are required for anyone who is physically present in the courtroom. You must provide your own masks as the court will not provide them.

Please connect to the courtroom a minimum of five (5) minutes prior to your scheduled appearance. Please remain silent on the line until your case is called. When possible, please do not place your device on speakerphone as this creates feedback in the courtroom. For your convenience, we have attached the weekly court schedule below. This will assist you in determining which courtroom you should be calling for your hearing. If you need further information/clarification please contact Court Administration at (360)679-7361.

Per Emergency Order No. 2020-8, all persons appearing for cases involving petitions for orders of protection shall appear by video via StarLeaf. You may appear by video by visiting www.starleaf.com. Once you are on the website, click the green button labeled "Join Meeting" on the upper right side (please see picture below). 


After clicking "Join Meeting," you will be directed to a StarLeaf join meeting box where you will input the meeting ID (see picture below). Input the meeting ID that is associated with the Judge you will be appearing in front of and then click "Join Meeting."

Follow the instructions to open StarLeaf Launcher to join your meeting. Instructions vary depending on which web application you are using. If you need any assistance joining a StarLeaf hearing for a court appearance, please do not hesitate to contact Court Administration at (360)679-7361. 


As of July 1, 2020, Court Administration will no longer accept electronic working copies for the judges. Please hand deliver to Superior Court Administration at 101 NE 6th St, Coupeville, WA 98239, or mail working copies to PO BOX 5000, Coupeville, WA 98239. If you are needing information for filing documents with the Island County Clerk's office, please visit their website here

Jury trials have resumed in Superior Court with specific health & safety precautions in place. Prior to any jury trial, all parties shall review Superior Court's jury trial plan, which can be located here.

PARTIES MAY APPEAR IN PERSON FOR THEIR HEARING IF THEY FEEL COMFORTABLE DOING SO AND DO NOT FEEL THEIR HEALTH OR SAFETY WOULD BE IN JEOPARDY. PARTIES MUST WEAR A MASK AND FOLLOW SIX FOOT SOCIAL DISTANCING GUIDELINES WHEN PHYSICALLY PRESENT IN THE COURTROOMS.
