Farmers Market Nutrition Program

WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program (WIC FMNP) is part of the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for lower income Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). The WIC Program provides healthy foods, nutrition education, and referrals to health and other social services.

Participants of the WIC program may qualify to receive WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) benefits to spend at any participating Farmers Market during the summer months.

FMNP is distributed on a first come first served approach. To see if you qualify please contact your local WIC clinic. Island County WIC only distributes WIC FMNP benefits. To access senior FMNP benefits please contact Island Senior Resources.

Program Goals

  • Provide fresh, healthy, unprocessed, locally grown fresh fruits, vegetables, and cut herbs to WIC families.
  • Expand the awareness and sales at farmers markets and farm stores.

Market Match

Shoppers who use Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)/EBT benefits can stretch their food budget to buy more fruits and vegetables with SNAP Market Match at participating farmers markets and grocery stores! Look for the SNAP Market Match currency, logo, and vendor signs at local farmers markets and grocery stores.

Every year, WIC provides vouchers for use at local farmers markets. Please check back for updates.
